"Creating more accessible and inclusive communities"
This site has been developed to support people who use an electric mobility scooter or wheelchair. You can now find one of many 'RECHARGE Point You Have the Power™' (RECHARGE Point™) locations to plan your trip accordingly. We’re proud that customers using the RECHARGE Scheme™ tell us they feel increased safety, social connecton and improved well-being. They no longer isolate themselves through fear they will be stranded by a flat battery.
Since the launch of the RECHARGE Scheme™ services in 2006, there have been no reported incidents related to the provision of this community service. However RECHARGE Scheme Australia Limited continues to look at ways we can continually improve accessibiliy and safety.
Only organisations and businesses who meet our Best Practice criteria are considered for entry on the Official Register of authorised locations, found through our 'RECHARGE finder'. You can be reassured by the RECHARGE brand that thousands of people have come to know and trust. Each participating business or organisation wants to enhance your experience as a valued customer. The RECHARGE Scheme™ services are making a big difference in people’s lives.
“I think it’s a great Scheme. It will help a lot people to get out more on their scooters and not have to worry about running out of charge in their batteries. Thank you all for your helping hands in making it easier for us to go out and about again.” Laurence H
Please encourage your family and friends to shop at businesses and organisations who support the RECHARGE Scheme™ services.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site and happy travelling!
Congratulations to the City of Subiaco who launched the RECHARGE Scheme™ services in partnership with RECHARGE Scheme Australia Ltd (RSA). Thanks to all who advocated to make this happen! Special thanks to businesses and organisations within Subiaco who are demonstrating what it is to offer their customers welcoming, accessible services. And of course, these organisations are kindly offering an option for people who use electric scooters and wheelchairs to recharge their battery, if and when they may need to. Participating Subiaco businesses and organisations are now listed on the RECHARGE Finder.
The City of Adelaide also recently launched the RECHARGE Scheme™ services in partnership with RSA as part of International Day of People with Disability celebrations. The Lord Mayor and the Dignity for Disability Parliamentarian Kelly Vincent came to say a few words. Sincere thanks to all participating businesses and organisations. Participating Adelaide businesses and organisations are now listed on the RECHARGE Finder. The City of Adelaide hope to add many more locations over the coming months.
